Man convicted in death of Akron woman, beating of prostitute: Crimes include 2 other assaults.

Dec. 20--His trail of violent acts against women was long, and it ended Tuesday in a Summit County courtroom. After a six-day jury trial, Christopher James Markovanovich, 43, was convicted of murder in the beating death of 48-year-old LeeAnn Cucuzza during the early hours of Aug. 6. The attack occurred as she was walking her dog in an East Akron neighborhood along a route she routinely took on her way to work at Klauser's Coin-Op, a laundry at Archwood Avenue and Ada Street.

"I know it won't bring my wife back," the victim's husband, Gino Cucuzza, said after the verdicts were read, "but at least I'll have the satisfaction that he isn't going to do that to anybody else."
